📡 Podcast Distribution Guide

How to get your podcast on Spotify, YouTube, and other major platforms

📋 Before You Start

Your RSS feed must have at least one published episode
Cover art: 1400x1400 to 3000x3000 pixels (square, JPEG or PNG)
Valid email address for verification
Podcast description and category selected
Explicit content properly marked in feed

Spotify for Podcasters

Go to Spotify for Podcasters

Visit podcasters.spotify.com and sign in or create an account.
Click "Get Started"

Select "I have a podcast" and choose "Link your existing podcast".
Paste Your RSS Feed URL

Enter: https://thinksmart.life/joey/feed.xml
Verify Ownership

Spotify will send a verification code to the email in your RSS feed. Enter the code to confirm ownership.
Review & Submit

Check your podcast details, add any missing info, and submit for review.

💡 Pro Tip: Spotify usually approves podcasts within a few hours to 2 days. Once approved, new episodes auto-publish within 1-2 hours of appearing in your RSS feed.

YouTube Music / YouTube Podcasts

Go to YouTube Studio

Visit studio.youtube.com and sign into your channel.
Navigate to Podcasts

In the left menu, click "Content" → "Podcasts" (or look for the Podcasts tab).
Click "Link Existing Podcast"

Choose the option to add a podcast via RSS feed.
Enter Your RSS Feed URL

Paste: https://thinksmart.life/joey/feed.xml
Verify & Configure

YouTube will preview your podcast. Set your preferences for how episodes appear (as videos with static images or audiograms).
Submit for Review

Complete the process and wait for YouTube to process your feed.

💡 Pro Tip: YouTube converts audio episodes into videos with your cover art. For better engagement, consider uploading actual video episodes directly to YouTube alongside your RSS feed.

Apple Podcasts

Go to Apple Podcasts Connect

Visit podcastsconnect.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID.
Click the "+" Button

Select "New Show" to add your podcast.
Add Your RSS Feed

Paste your feed URL: https://thinksmart.life/joey/feed.xml
Validate Your Feed

Apple will check your feed for errors. Fix any issues if flagged.
Submit for Review

Once validated, submit your podcast for Apple's review process.

💡 Pro Tip: Apple's review can take 1-5 days. Make sure your cover art meets their specifications (3000x3000 recommended) and your content doesn't violate their guidelines.

Google Podcasts Manager

Go to Google Podcasts Manager

Visit podcastsmanager.google.com and sign in with Google.
Add Your Podcast

Click "Add a podcast" and enter your RSS feed URL.
Verify Ownership

Google will send a verification email or you can verify via your website.
Complete Setup

Once verified, your podcast will be indexed by Google and appear in search results.

💡 Note: Google Podcasts is being sunset and migrating to YouTube Music. Submitting to YouTube covers you for Google's ecosystem going forward.
